KIWANIS FACT!
Kiwanis International's continuing service focus is called "Young Children:
Priority One." This program seeks to serve the needs of young children from
prenatal development to age 5 in four areas: maternal and child health;
child care and development; parent education and support; and safety
programs and pediatric trauma care.
Our
fundraising event at the Cumming Fairgrounds was a great success! As
part of the July 4th celebration, the Cumming Kiwanis Club sold Spin Art
Frisbees, birdhouses left over from Relay for Life, and bags of shelled
pecans. For most of the evening, there were kids and parents lined up
several deep to make the spin Art Frisbees. We sold over 70 Frisbees, one
birdhouse, and several bags of pecans. This was the first time that the club
participated in the July 4th celebration, and due to the success, we will
certainly make this a yearly tradition. Pictures from the event are posted
on our Photos page.

Plans are already underway for the 2010 Kids Fishing Event. Bill Couch
will be coordinating the event again this year, and our club will be
serving in many capacities, along with Key Club, Venturing Crew, and Boy Scouts. More information
will come as we get closer to the September date.
